Description
Ready to learn a new life-changing skill?
Want to learn from an experienced canner?
Come on down to the farm and let’s make some fresh blueberry jam! This is a limited edition class and may not be offered again. For this class, we have a guest teacher joining us… Sharon the owner and operator of Barbara’s Kitchen. Want to learn more about her and her husband please visit their website at www.barbaraskitchenjams.com
This class will consist of a review of fresh fruit appropriate for canning and safety measures in food preservation. It also includes hands on learning, meaning you are going to make your own jam and take home two jars. We will walk you through each ingredient and every step to make simple but delicious jam. In turn, you will walk away with knowledge and the confidence to repeat the process on your own.
**IMPORTANT** We will be making a large batch of jam as a class, which means everyone attending is going to assist. The batch will yield enough for each attendee to take home a share of the goods. 🙂
Course Includes:
1-2 hour instructor led course by someone experienced in canning. Valued at $150.
All of the supplies and tools you will need to complete a batch of jam. You only need to show up and be willing to learn. Valued at $100+
2 jars of jam that you personally make during the class.
An instruction manual worth $25 that you will also take with you. Includes a bonus recipe.
20% off everything in our shop following your course.
During this class, we will cover multiple topics involving food preservation from the ingredient usage, safety, and storage. I will even tell you where you can get local and online. I will show you my shortcuts and explain some important tricks and things to avoid that I have learned along the way.
You will be provided with gloves, protective eye wear if needed, and an apron. But we are still asking that you wear closed toed shoes and something you can pull your hair up with (hats or ponytails are acceptable).
Our shop will comfortably fit 8 + myself. We will also have chairs with backs for anyone needing to take a break. This course is roughly one to two hours long.
This course is limited to individuals 16 or older; however, if you have a mature child that is at least 10-15 years old and you can attend the class with them, we invite you to join. Just leave me a note on your order (please purchase two seats) that you have a youngster attending with you. We do allow for private bookings and lessons, use the email below to make inquiries.
