BASIC COLD PROCESS SOAP
Description
Ready to learn a new life-changing skill?
Want to learn from an experienced soap maker?
Come sign up for one of our basic soap courses. You never know, you may find a new hobby or make a new best friend.
This course will consist of a review of mica colorants and fragrance oils that can be used in cold process soap making. It also includes hands on learning, meaning you are going to make your own soap loaf and take it home. I will walk you through each ingredient and every chemical reaction that occurs during soap making. In turn, you will walk away with knowledge and the confidence to repeat the process on your own.
Course Includes:
2 hour instructor led course by someone educated in chemistry and experienced in soap making. Valued at $150.
All of the supplies and tools you will need to complete a batch of soap. You only need to show up and be willing to learn. Valued at $100
$50 worth of soap that you personally make during the course.
An instruction manual worth $25 that you will also take with you. Includes 2 recipes, one of which we will make in class.
Your very own re-useable soap mold. Valued at $20.
20% off everything in our shop following your course.
During this course, we will cover 11 topics from the history of soap, scenting, safety, and coloring. I will even tell you where you can get additional supplies both locally and online. I will show you my shortcuts and explain some important tricks and things to avoid that I have learned along the way.
You will be provided with gloves, protective eye wear, and an apron. But we are still asking that you wear closed toed shoes and something you can put on and take off that has long sleeves. Don’t worry, we will only need long sleeves during the actual soap making process.
You will have the choice of 3 different fragrances and colors for this course. We will have Ginger & Lemongrass, Lavender Blossom, and an additional fragrance that we change based on the season. Please note, we are not discussing additives such as oatmeal or flower buds. That topic will be covered in Basic Soap Making 102.
Our shop will comfortably fit 5 + myself. We are asking our students to bring a mask that you may need during class. This is a part of mixing up some of our ingredients as well. We will also have chairs with backs for anyone needing to take a break. This course is roughly two hours long.
This course is limited to individuals 18 or older. If you and your child (under 18) want to attend please contact us first. We do allow for private bookings and lessons, use the email below to make inquiries.
